Wellspring Harps: 36, 32, and 29 strings
The Wellspring Series is now offered in models of 29, 32, and 36 strings. The form is simple, pleasing, affordable with a rich, clear, big sound. We are proud of this series because it means that good quality harps can be made at a very competitive price for newcomers to the harp world.
Each size is available in the standard model with a "pointed" joint on the left and rounded column/neck joint seen on the right in the photo above as an option. The primary design objective for the Wellspring series was to produce an instrument with a sound comparable to the best harps available, while keeping the form simple and affordable. The result is a fairly compact harp which offers a consistent, warm, clear and full-bodied tone with an even feel under the fingers. The harps are strong and well built, stay in tune well, and are offered at a very reasonable price.
All harps are finished with a hard, glossy finish of tung oil for protection. An owner's manual and a tuning key are included with every delivery.
The soundboards, as in all our harps, are built with solid spruce pieces which have been hand-cut and then edge-glued. We believe that solid wood soundboards are superior, especially over a period of many years, when laminate or plywood soundboards tend to "give up"and loss their acoustic reasonance. The neck, pillar, soundbox sides and feet are made of solid lumber. The sides are bookmatched. The back is made of laminate topped with veneer.
